The Cause I'm Currently Supporting

I went to the Post Office to collect something today.

Excuse the mess. It's the Blue Invisible Childrens' bracelet. :) Thank you so much, Shuyee. This means a lot. :) And yeah, it smells like a cereal box. Nice. I have yet to watch it. But I bet it'll be a tear-jerker. I'm going to pass the CD to my mum so she can show it to the students in my former school. (she's a teacher there) That's one way to spread awareness, aye?

And *cough* time for my shameless promotion. Not for me. But for the bracelet. Ignore my ugly face. Focus on the blue bracelet. Kthxbai.

...and the web address of course. :)

I'm finding a way to earn money to donate some more though. I want to watch the other stories. Haha.

Mmhkay gonna go watch Wolverine on DVD. Cheers!

ETA: WOLVERINE: The origin

Okay finished watching the movie. I REALLY need to start eating healthy. My dinner was potato chips and Ribena. :/ So sad. And next week's Gawai week. Oh, dang I'm going to be real fat. :(

ANYWAY!

Wolverine.
Hm. Lovely plot. Hugh Jackman was awesome. Everything fits, I guess. I didn't really watch much of the X-Men trilogy. Yes, I'm a bad Marvel fan. :( I couldn't watch the Trilogy (or the Fantastic Four movies too for that matter) 'cause I think it had something to do with too much school work at the time. Everything was really nice. Plot, characters, the twists, effects...omg the effects...

There is just one thing I hate.

The person who played Kayla. Personally, she sucked in acting. Well, that's just my opinion though.

Period.

Dedication and Art Dump

For Kylie. Samurai Cook David! And Remy the Rat of Ratatouille. :D

Here ya go, dahrlangs. As requested by Barb. I decided to put her unidentical twin, Debb in too. :)

I gave Debb black hair and Barb brown hair. LOL Hope it's okay... I had fun doing it. I learned to do the hair in the progress. Haha. Since it was a double-character drawing, it took a little longer.

Hope you'll like it. Next: Bill's request.

Cheerio.

ETA: My MSN personal message says it all. I'm srsly faliling over the premiere of UP and kinda sorta broken hearted that I can't watch it yet. Hm. Oh well.

Aww David. I feel you. :( Come let's sulk together. LOL JK.

The Shameless Request

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have a shameless request. But first, please note that I'm not vain nor am I doing this just because. Haha. The reason I'm doing this is because one, I wanna try my luck and two, I'm hoping that the money earned can help me buy more Invisible Children bracelets. And also, maybe help me with my art equipment.

But yeah, I'm just trying my luck, so, feel free to vote and not vote.

Step 1: Go to HERE.

Step 2: Go to the contest and then gallery.

Step 3: Go to the 10th page and look for my picture. I'm wearing a plaid shirt and go by my real name. You can just enter in my e-mail address (takaryo_goku_saiyuki@hotmail.com) if it's too troublesome...and vote for me if you want to. If you don't want to it's okay. :)

Thank you guys. Love you.

Song of the Day: Woah haven't posted something like this in some time. "Tainted Love" by Marilyn Manson. Hah wierd eh? It's a glam rock-ish kinda group I think. I first listened to the American Idol Ford Video version and I decided to give the original version a try. I don't usually listen to these genres fo music, but haha, it's good to try something new eh?

Iolanthe

Iolanthe is Violet in French. I decided to try and do more character designs and came up with this character.

Kinda experimented with brushes, lighting and texture, and came up with a girl in a beret. I gave her a one of thoese so-called "poet's image" with the tight clothes and beret.

Nothing interesting happened today really. Besides the fact that there was a massive storm that forced me to get of the laptop in the afternoon. :P I didn't really get much sleep...but seem to have much more energy than usualy today. Haha. And I didn't even have my usual coffee.

Song of the day: "You'll be in My Heart"- Phil Collins. I haven't heard his songs in a LONG time. I shall be adding him to my list of favourite singers later. :D Oh, on a side note, the Japanese version of this song is really good too.

Marionettes and Merriment

I watched Pinocchio tonight!

Oh seriously I missed this show. Watching it at this age...the donkey part was kind of creepy. Haha. I've also noticed how many times they used the word "jackass" in this movie. I think that was before political correctness... since this is a 40s movie. :) It's not important anyway. What's important is what moral value the movie delivers.

My favourite part is always seeing Gapetto and Pinocchio dance to the music box music. :D Oh! And I also found out about this!

Seahorse with donkey ears?!
Haha I didn't notice that until I read some comments. :P

TODAY! I decided to tweet Vanessa something. Haha. I got another person laughing Anne!

Read from the bottom to the top. Haha. So then, I decided to give the link to Daniel. And his reply was...

LOL Oh my gosh. He FOLLOWED him already! Mama Hen, you're awesome, you know that? Now, go get some sleep.

Song of the day: "True Love's Kiss"- Princess Giselle of the Enchanted Movie. It has been a Disney adventure for me tonight. Hee.

Oh and...Happy Memorial Day to my Western friends! :D

Autopilot

It seems like I've gotten used to my schedule. Waking up, doing chores, eat, sleep, wake up, going on the internet, eat, going on the internet till I sleep.

Today, I bathed my dog, Hazel. Here she is in her hidey-hole.

LoL. So it was scorching hot. And Hazel kept going under the sun. I think I got sunburn 'cause of that 'cause my skin hurt a little after that. :/

By the way, Barb and Debb, thanks for the awesome movie date. Haha. Don't worry about leaving me. LoL. You two are the awesome-est unidentical twinz i've evar met.

The animation says it all! Haha.

Queen of the Dead Engines

This morning I drove again. Haha. Three words. I hate hills. :( Idk. I was more comfortable using the small car during all those driving lessons. And now, I keep on getting dead engines when I drive the family car. Call me queen of the dead engines... or roadkill.

Oh! and I parked in my first parking space today! 8D

*cricket sounds*

Okay.

Umh. Went to see Night at the Museum 2!

Although I prefer the 1st movie... this movie is still made of WIN! Ben Stiller FTW! 8D I liked the Albert Einstien bobble heads and them cute little monkeys. And not to forget Jedediah and Octavious! LoL. And that Pharoah with the lisp is hilarious. There are so many funny bits... I can't remember. Haha. I want to learn how to handle that flashlight. 8D And I want Al Capone's gun. It was very educational. Had fun with Debb and Barb and their bro. Thanks for driving me around. :)

Ehm. I've been recieving loads of the same questions on twitter. I just wanna say...

No, I'm not a friend (or acquaintance to be more precise) of David Archuleta. Haha. Wish I was though, but yeah, maybe one day in the far off future. :/ God works in mysterious ways so who knows. LOL! I feel flattered in a way though. Thanks. :)

Oh yeah, felicity, I suddenly remembered my fav colour! (I know, you must be saying HOW on earth can I forget my favourite colour). It's PURPLE! Haha. And yeah I still love all colours. :)

Today. I bought this.

HONEY ROASTED Honey Bunches of Oats. Honey + Moar Honey = WIN! 8D

Song of the Day: "He ain't Heavy, He's my Brother"- The Osmonds. I love this song so much. Haha. Gosh, I've been addicted to their songs all over again. :D And it all started from surfing for Christmas songs for the past week.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Idk how God works. But yeah.

Haha. Idk what to say. Srsly. I never expected David to reply a simple weather question. Lol. I thought he'd answer all the other questions that I was foolish no to think of in the first place. (I.E: The Samurai Cooking-thing)

And now he has just turned my Christmas mood up a notch. And I was addicted to songs by Frank Sinatra, the Osmonds and piano covers of Christmas songs for the past week. :/

AND!

I asked Shontelle on her secret to get scar-free legs. I love her legs. Hee. And she threw in a tip to get smooth legs too. Cocoa butter and Veet! Haha.

I love her. I posted that questions hours before she answered it. And I congrat her on her 5,000 followers! Woo!

Can't wait for tomorrow. Thanks Felicity for the getting-rid-of-black-spot tips. :) You and Shontelle ROCK in beauty stuff. :D

P.S: I can't stop laughing at the fact I look like the "middle person" here. :P The random idiot that comes between Shontelle and David. Haha.

Song of the day: "Let it Snow" by Dean Martin. Haha. The ONE SONG I forgot to listen to when I was searching for Christmas songs this past week. Can you believe that?

Just for a good laugh

Not mine. BUT.

Because I think his expression suits the caption! I love it! Haha! Oh Adam. You will def be big in the music industry. Oh and did I mention I love his hair...SO MUCH?! And his pants. :/ Idk. I like his style. Very J-rockish-ish.

I finished reading my book. Will post a tiny review on it here later.

I have a movie date with Debb and Barb tomorrow. Yay. Night at the Museum 2, here we come! Ben Stiller. LoL. I love him. Loads.

Dum Dum give me Gum Gum.

Tell me that good things come to those who wait

I went to the dentist today! I know, people think I'm loco, but I like having my teeth cleaned. Turns out my teeth are fine. Haha not bad for someone who hasn't been to the dentist for 3 years.

So, last night, I was praying for usual stuff. For family, friends, people around the world, for the ones I love who are still here and who are already with the Lord. I added in another thing:

"Lord, I pray that you'll point me the right direction to the right path; and help me pick the right time for everything."

...something like that but similar nontheless.

So, during multi-tasking games, chatroll and youtube-ing, David tweeted. It's been a norm for me not to get replies, but who cares anyway. At least I know he's alive, healthy and having fun. :) So, I tweeted him my usual questions, like, how was your day/writing sessions/ what did you eat. Then I paused, and noticed how many random tweets I was sending. LoL. I'm such a bad fan! Haha. So, I sat for a few seconds, took a swig of my Milo, and thought, "Lord, please show me the right time to tweet." Then I thought of a question. I remembered Pixar's latest new movie that was going to be released soon.

And then.

...and now I love Pixar even MORE! Haha. Pixar's new movie, UP will be out soon and best of all...you can also see it in 3D!!

It's basically about this old man, Carl Frederickson, who has dreamed of travelling the world. So, one day he decided to strap his house to a asdfghjk-illion balloons and travel the world. Just when he thought he was alone, a knock came at the door, and there was this little boy scout named Russell. So, having no choice (since his house is already in mid-air), the guy lets the boy in and their adventure kicks off from there!

It's roughly like that though, I'm not thoroughly informed of every single detail. LoL.

You can see the trailer HERE and HERE.

Being a Pixar animator...is...my dream job. *sigh* I could always self-teach myself animation. :/ If that'll ever work out with all the constant updates you have to do with the computer.

...then again, God has proved that He works in mysterious ways. ;)

So I quote. "Good things Come to those who Wait." by David and made popular by the AAM-ers.

P.S: Note that I DON'T use Disney together with Pixar. Although it's supposed to be DISNEY and PIXAR, I believe that all the talent came from Pixar and NOT Disney. Disney has disappointed me so much already. :(

P.S.S: Song of the Day: "Paper Roses" by Marie Osmond. YES! I am very, very retro. I LOVE the Osmonds and I used to listen to it all the time with my bro and close friend during my childhood days.

Crowned Dark Horse

I got to watch TV 60s-70s (whichever one) style! Somehow, my tv went black and white recently, so I'm forced to watch everything in grayscale. Hm. So anyway, the finale was okay. Not as exiting as last year, in my opinion. Hee.

ANYWAY! CONGRATULATIONS...KRISTOPHER NEIL ALLEN!

And not to forget dear Adam too. :D When I think about it, Kris deserves the title. He was the most improved contestant from the start of the season till the end. His journey truly represents what American Idol is about: to uncover undiscovered talent and turn them into a star. And Kris has definately proven that ANYONE's dream can come true on that stage. :) Having not much camera time in the early stages of the competition, he has also proven that...well, good things come to those who wait. ;) He has worked hard for it and therefore deserved it.

Aw. One word. Precious.

This year, Kris is the first married person to be an Idol. :D Woo~ Kris! Congratulations to Adam too for making 2nd place. His recognition amongst many stars will definately earn him a spot amongst them as well. Kudos to these two amazing guys. Looking forward to see what they will come up with later. :D

Oh and look who came!

Kudos to the hair-dresser who did li'l D's hair. He looks better!

Aww muh boyz a-huggin'. Precious. Love 'em both. Cookie sang "Permanent" on Idol too. WHICH, he didn't sing in Manila. It was very solemn. I could feel the pain as he sang it. R.I.P Adam Cook. You truly have an amazing brother. :) Aww at Archie for being extra supportive of Cook as well.

I shall end this post with some fun with Kris.

Hee! Goodnight!

Song Of the Day: "No Boundaries" written by Kara DioGuardi sung by both Adam and Kris. I'm addicted to Adam's version. Imho, it's WAY better than he did on stage. It's amazing. Haven't heard Kris' one though, but I'm hoping the key will be toned down a little for his voice. :)

P.S: I didn't know Steve Martin did music. GO STEVE MARTIN! Woo!

Showdown

8 more hours.

When it comes to reality shows, I've grown neutral when it comes to picking a winner. This year we have Adam and Kris as our top two on Idol. My opinions on these two.

Adam: He's definately unique. Both in looks and sound. Haha. My favourite song from him is Mad World. He gives a depressing feeling to it and, wow, I never knew I could like such a deep and depressing song so much. But imho, he really suits broadway or theatre...all that stage stuff. 8D And I like theatre performances. :) He's like a chameleon...and...

...he reminds me of... Dr. Black Jack! The white highlights, the long coat...all of that minus the doctor skills. LoL.

Kris: The most improved in the competition. He hadn't had much camera time or focus during the early stages of the competition, and now he has grown to be one of the top two in the competition. He gives out a Jason Mraz-y vibe imo. Hee. He has grown to get what it takes to be a great artiste. He's chuck full of originality that sets off a nice, relaxed vibe. :) My favourite song? Heartless of course!

And in conclusion, I really don't care, once again, who wins. I love 'em both. Great skills. Great talent. And I'll wish 'em both the best. :)

Song of the day: "Mary Did You Know". I'm listening to the version sung by Clay Aiken. My fav one from the 2nd season. It's really soft and tender. Haha. I know, it's a little too early for Christmas, but in my book, it's never too early for Christmas. :D This song has also covered by Donny Osmond and David Archuleta.

Nocturnal? Insomnia?

How do I feel?

I tried not sleeping today. So I tried sleeping early at 8:30 pm. However, this lead to me waking up at midnight and being unable to sleep after that. Plan A= FAILED!

I have a Plan B though. That is... not sleeping throughout the day with the help of coffee. Usually coffee drains my energy that I've used up after being hyper. If this doesn't work. *sigh* Call me the vampire. :P

Song of the day: "Note to God" by Charice. I love Charice. She's so sweet and her voice is so...WOW. She's one of my favourite young singers besides little Connie Talbot. :D Even though her voice sounds more mature than she looks, she has real talent.

Under the Weather

Mmhh.

It's 4:30 am. And seriously I can't sleep. This morning I woke up at 2pm, slept at 4pm, woke up again at 7pm for dinner, read a book, and slept at 9pm and woke up again later and here I am now. I didn't want to go back to sleep again because it will drain my energy further. Oh goodness this is NOT GOOD. I'm getting the flu. Probably because of my insomnia. Ugh. I hate this. I never get sick. Not in the past two years at least. Trying to keep myself well. :(

Oh temporary header up above. Haha.

I wont be online in the morning for this week. Or at least until the family computer is fixed 'cause my mum will be using this laptop at work. Dang. But oh well eh. At least I can catch up on stuff I never gotten around to do. Haha.

My music teacher says that Filipinos are really good in music. :)

and apparently Shontelle thinks so too. She loves Charice! Woo! :)

I Read the News Today, Oh Boy.

I like naming my post titles after songs and lyrics.

Anyway. Oh dear. :(

"KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia -- Malaysia confirmed its second case of swine flu Saturday in a woman who recently returned from the United States on the same flight as the first person in the country to test positive for the virus.

Ramlee Rahmat, the Health Ministry deputy director-general, said the woman, a student, arrived Wednesday and was hospitalized Friday in northern Penang state."

More here.

I went to the hospital to visit my grandma and there were nurses at the entrance spraying hand sanitizers on peoples' hands before going in. My mum was like "Only hands? No masks?"

So anyway, my sister is 7 years old. Actually children under the age of 12 aren't allowed to go in the hospital. The doctor I spoke with said that there is a suspected case of H1N1 in the hospital. But idk where the quarantince room is. So yeah. He pointed out that my sis and my bro (who is 16 actually) aren't allowed to come in. See, bro. You need to eat your veggies. Even the doctor can see thru you. He said I was old enough though. Made me feel old. But yeah, thanks.

LOL We also had this awkward conversation.

Doc: *asked my sis* How old are you?
Sis: Seven
Doc: Do you know those cute little pigs that has been causing the virus?
Me: Is it REALLY from pigs? They're not mutated or anything?
Doc: If you want mutated...take the H5N1 and H1N1. Diffuse it and it will become H1N5. And that will be twice as deadly.
Me: ...
Doc: Of course there's no such thing. Yet.
Me: ...yet...
Doc: Well that's just the doctors' theory. Don't go off scaring your friends yea.

But the doctor was friendly. LoL.

Oh and I met my dad's side of the family. And as usual, I don't know/ can't remember them. And wow were they loud. Oh the embarassment.

I don't want to worry about this virus thing actually. It'll just make matters worse. Keep a positive spirit and enjoy our time right now. :)

Sharp Dressed Man

Geh. I still feel uncomfortable calling David a man. But yeah. Mmhkay. Okay, remember when David said he shopped in Topman in Malaysia? Here are some stuff I found in Topman's line of clothing. :) Yes, apparently I have too much time on my hands. Haha.

Outfit number one: David's Showcase in Malaysia. I know that the colours were different...but this was the closest colours/pattern/type of clothes I could find to match his. :D

ETA: Oh, apparently he bought the showcase clothes from the U.S. ...no wonder it's not the same colour eh? Haha So it's NOT Topman I guess. Oh well interesting to see that there were similar designs there too. :P Thanks Shuyee for pointing that out. Hee.

Outfit number two: Red and Blue checks. During his time in Manila.

Outfit number three: Blue, White and Grey checks with a black skinny tie. During his performance in Manila. :D

That's just about it for now. Haha. He seems to love, love, love checks. Oh yea, Topman is a UK brand if I'm not mistaken. And their shirts and ties range from 50 pounds and above. I'm like WOAH. Haha.

Time of My Life

16 May 2009- 17 May 2009.

Even from home. Yes it was. My two fav Davids in the world. In one place. One day. Epic awesomeness. I just HAD to make this.

Two words. Lucky Philippines. LoL! But I srsly spazzed in my seat at home here. Haha. Bet I sounded super annoying flailing on chatroll last night. I'm not usually like that. Hm. :P This picture is dedicated to all my friends. Those whom I know and I don't know. Those who went and did not. To Sheba and Rusharr for the earliest vids, to Kylie and Justine our AAM authors, to James who asked Cook my question and got it answered, to those who didn't get to watch it and to those who did, to those who were chatrolling,to those who did the cellcast, to those who favour/don't favour Cook. And of course, to Davids Archuleta and Cook, their bands, Jeff, and their tour managers. I love everyone the same. Looking at that 150K crowd is just amazing.

Things I loved about the concert:

Archuleta: He sang Zero Gravity! He danced! His voice was AMAZING! The "pants falling down" thing at the end of You Can! He whistled to Your Eyes Don't Lie! 8D

Cook: He said "Give it up for David Archuleta. He's my best friend". He sang Always be My Baby, Light On and Come Back to Me. :) He "married off" his bandmate and his fan! L0L! He saved the best for last and sang A Daily AntheM (also known as ADA.M from the highlighted bits. The song dedicated to his brother Adam)

Both Davids: They watched each other sing. They sang together during ADA.M. (Archie singing the last line at least which made my cry like heck omgosh) Their EPIC! hug adfghjkasdfghjk.

Other EPIC!things that happened.

Shontelle tweeted me back. She said she liked La Roux. So I told her that I've only listened to "Quicksand" and "In for the Kill" and ask her about any suggestions of songs I should hear. :) Awesomeness y/y?

And...this fan vid of the pairing Rachel and Joey from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. by bumcrackmosh. Dedicated to me with the song "You Can" by David Archuleta. Short, sweet, and it made me tear up, dang.

Thankful. Oh ever so thankful.

Roadkill

Woo! First time after a month of no driving! 8D Drove my bro to church, and then had lunch with my mum. (Char kuey tiaw, baby!) And then drove my mum to the bank and back home. Almost crashed into two cars and a lorry. Dang you stupid hilly roads. :/ But yeah I'm okay. P is for POWER! Haha.

And to celebrate EPIC! day,

Oh yes, Bill. ILY SO FREAKING MUCH you know that? *hugs and spazz* You're a better clothes ninja than I am! LoL! Malaysia rocks! Woo! 8D

Yesh, our angel approves! With the smiley! 8D

Hopefully I can listen to the cellcast...'cause might be going swimming today. Hm. Am gonna spazz a lot tonight. Just had my iced coffee. Hee.

Black and White

Don't you just LOVE the 21st century? Haha! I can't resist! Kudos to the editors of Teenage Magazine Singapore for this amazing picture. I computer-enhanced David's autograph and added in stuff. :) It's too bad he didn't chicken scratch in my name though. Hm. Hee~

Oh, do not steal this please. If you wanna use it, please ask first. 'cause I've worked hard processing the signature and stuff since I'm still learning how to photoshop manually. Thanks!

...and I'm off to flail some more! Wee!

Four in the Morning

Because I think this is adorable...

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Haha. A tribute to the first all-male top three. LoL.

Um so yeah, I'm being an owl tonight. Again. Partially 'cause I'm exited for those attending the EPIC!David-squared concert in, I quote Justine, MONEY-LAH! (Manila) I shall take this time to wish all of those heading to Manila a safe trip. :D Enjoy yourselves, yeah? Yeah!! Haha.

Oh yeah, anyone heard of All Night Yahtzee and Exit 245? They are really awesome acapella groups! Check em out when you have the time! :)

The Angel and the Wordnerd. Sketch 2.0.

Hadn't been using the lappie for half a day today. Mum took it to school. Psh. I need my personal one. Badly. :/

Anyway, I drew this yesterday and I just finished colouring it.

Yes, I know. Failed CD cover. Lulz. Hahahah. I dreamt during my nap that I had Cook and Archie sign it though. Haha. Too bad it'a a dream. Love these two epic!Davids. :) I favour Archuleta more though. Too bad I can't go see them. Reasons? One, I have never travelled out of the country. Two, my parents. Three, my education. :P

Here are the list of songs that are on my playlist today.

- "Permanent" by David Cook.
- "Mad World" and "Tracks of My Tears" by Adam Lambert.
- "Almost Lover" by a Fine Frenzy

...all songs of sadness/songs with great depth. Oh guh, I feel so emo today. "Emo". Don't like that word and yet I'm using it. :/ Haha. Adding up Kris Allen's "Heartless" into my playlist later on. :D

I haz a sudden craving for theeze.

Mmm...nachos.

Motivation in Literature

Well, hello there.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you my definition of motivation in literature. LOL Just kidding. It was a random thing. Before I fell asleep, I grabbed the nearest thing and used it as a bookmark.

And now for an old doodle.

'cause it just screams "David, come back to Malaysia!" or at least have a layover...maybe we can do lunch at the airport McD's? Yes? No? Sure Ray can come too. :P Initially made for Archuleta Avenue creator, Anne and authors Kylie, John, Justine and Lily. :)

And next up, I give you...FOOD!

Well, not really. A drink. This is called the Milo "Special". Decided to try it on Mothers' Day. The special thing about it is that it tasted minty. LoL. Minty Milo. Nice.

Why yes, I like taking pictures of food.

Slow Ride

--take it easy. Haha.

I asked my dad to get me a new book recently. Need to get some reading back into my life. It's called "Glitter Baby" but Susan Elizabeth Philips. I've read one of her books once, called "The Breathing Room". It's pretty funny and spunky. So, I decided to give this one a try.

Oh and I welcome the two Davids to the Philippines. I hear it's an awesome place. They have really big malls and stuff. :D My friend sent me some food from the Philippines last year for my birthday. I think I got some Polvoron candy, dried mango, dried fish with vinegar and some spicy mango sweets. Seems like the Philippines are famous for their mangoes eh? This is the doodle I plan to get to them. 'Cause since I hadn't the time to draw for Archuleta and since I've never met Cook, I thought, let's give this a try, eh? Haha.

Bet if they see it they'll go like...

this. Haha. Love their faces here.

I had a vegetarian dinner tonight. For once. Had tofu, bean sprouts and green vegetables. There WAS meat but everyone ate it already. So yeah, went green for the night. LoL.

Tainted Love

The pic... kinda describes how I'm feeling right now.

The J.P.A scholarship. I got it. So, I have a chance to fly overseas. It was a bitter-sweet moment...'cause this decides that I can't continue my dream as a graphic animator. Which sucks though 'cause it has always been my childhood dream. So, you're probably looking at a future linguist. Wierd. Hm. The other bitter thing about accepting this is that I don't think I'll be able to take my piano exams this year...or for a very long time for that matter. I'll be away from my beloved piano and all the songs I love to play. Which is sad...but something I have to sacrifice I guess. Till I can get a decent keyboard at the place I'm gonna stay in overseas.

Sorry fingers, you're not getting what you want all these years. :(

...on the bright side though, I could become a songwriter if I become a linguist. That is... if I don't go tone-deaf in three, four, five years' time. Sad, sad.

I've been insanely tired lateley. But all at the wrong time. Few days ago, I tried waking up early to reset my body clock. However that only lead me to fall asleep during odd times. Two nights ago, I woke up at 3pm and slept again an hour later to wake up 2 hours later. Then last night I couldn't sleep so I stayed up reading. Right now I feel really exhausted. But I haven't finished my chores. Gah.

Oh yeah, let me annouce to you my new favourite show of the year: BBC's Merlin. I've always enjoyed medieval-themed stories and shows; so I decided to give this show a shot and got hooked. Haha! Fangirling with my friend Leana just made things more exiting. Bradley James and Colin Morgan ftw! Awooogahh! LoL. The 2nd season will air in the UK this year. Stoked? You bet your butt I am.

The EPIC!Double-David concert's coming up soon in Manila. Just about to finish my 2nd doodle of Cook and Archuleta. I'll post them here later. :D

Recap of my Solo Journey to K.L, David Archuleta spaz, and My List of Thanks.

I decided to write a recap on the most special week I've experienced. The week I flew solo to Kuala Lumpur to listen and meet David Archuleta and my family in Archuleta Avenue Malaysia. It's a ridiculously long post, so yeah, thou hath been warned. :)

Three years ago, I was pretty much opposite of who I am now. Insensitive, uncaring, mean, and always swearing. Sometimes I thought of the worst things I could do to release myself from the pain and stress I was experiencing only to make it feel worse. In short, I was lost and clueless and was basically going down the wrong path. Though I gradually got better over the years, I still swore and thought negatively...until I met, read and listened to David Archuleta; whose squeaky clean personality and backround stumped me and influenced me to do the same. :) I even go to church more often now! Yaay!

I know it might be a little hard for other people to understand, because there are parts of my life not many people knows or that I don't reveal to people willy-nilly. So yeah! :D

Summer, 2008.

Second from the bottom on the right side. Credits to my lovely friend Tina!

...who suprised me with this precious little gem. Since she was going to the American Idol Summer tour that year, I asked her if she could, y'know, get something for me there. Haha. So, she had David hold up a sign she made for the fansite I was part of at the time. Gave me a boost in my studies, really. It was the closest thing to David I had at the moment, so I really was thankful for just this picture.

Poor dude looks tired.

8th April 2009: David-Day! Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

I left for the airport in the morning. It was D-Day for us fans in Archuleta Avenue Malaysia (AAM) because David Archuleta was finally coming to Kuala Lumpur! Almost crashed into a tree when I heard of it. Haha. Thank God, that my dad let me go for the showcase since I've won the tickets already. Oh, and I met Serene at the airport too! We were on the same flight. Awesome! On my way to KL on the plane, I wrote David a letter and put it together with some postcards and a gift for him and his family. After touching down in LCCT, I went to KLIA straight away. Spent a couple of hours until the rest arrived. I met the authors and my online friends at the airport. They were SO friendly. I got the T-shirt and helped with the signs and socialized. Honestly, meeting them was like meeting my family. They were nice, caring and loving. They were definately ArchAngels for a reason.

The airport gang! (minus a few people though) LoL. Credits to (uncle) John for taking the pic.

We waited anxiously and David finally arrived. He almost made his way to AAM's section...but unfortunately was pushed back by the mob of people. Thanks to the authors and auntie Shu Yee, and to everyone in AAM, we stood our ground and didn't rush for him. We just serenaded him with Touch my Hands and A Little Too Not Over You. And he noticed. Which was good. Haha. It was sad..he had to be taken away another way and we eventually couldn't give him a warm welcome like we planned. But on the other hand, there was always the showcase!

11th April 2009: Showcase Day! Sunway Lagoon Amphitheatre.

After days of anxious waiting, and swallowing the temptation to stalk him, the day finally arrived. After all the exitement, I didn't think I'd get to meet David...I just figured I came here for what I everybody else came for: to hear him sing. I went for the pre-showcase extra early too (I woke up at 6 am) and helped out with the food and stuff. When everyone arrived, I made new friends. They were again, super nice. I got one of aunty Elicia's cupcakes which were too delicious to eat... but I ate it anyway, the chibi-David tasted tummy and chocolatey.

My buddy Debb and me, Deb. Haha. Photo credit to Alex and Kitty.

Haha. Aww. So, we got together and prepared a little snippet of "Zero Gravity", a song that David co-wrote and sang in his concerts in the U.S, but was never reliased as a single or in his album. The AAM authors also gave us a little piece of white paper to guard with our lives. It was a suprise. ;)

At noon, we headed to the amphitheatre and OMGosh there was a LOOOONG line! However, we waited patiently in the sun with our black shirts on. All for David, TOGETHER. We got into the amphitheatre and were seperated. Because some of us had VIP passes and some had just normal passes. So, I got the normaly passes and just sat with my friends, Barbara, Amelia, aunty Tracy and her son, and some other fans I'm not so fimiliar with. I passed my camera to my friend Alex, since I didn't know whether cameras were allowed to be brought in or not. (Eventually yes, they were allowed)

Then, Kylie and Anne came walking around and noticed our shirts. She called us over and gave us V.I.P passes. I was shocked and exited. The 2nd row up front! In front of the stage! What more can I ask for? I later ound out that Alex accedentally left my camera cover in his gift bag, so, yeah, my camera cover is with David now! Haha! It's pretty exiting in a wierd way though. Enjoy your time in Utah, camera cover! Anyway, we got to enjoy it up front, and we were esctatic. Soon, more AAM members were together up front with the banner. I was happy. This was what I prayed for in church before I won the showcase passes the day after. I prayed that if I couldn't go, I hoped that the AAM members who could go would get to be TOGETHER. He sang 6 songs! For 1/2 and hour. But it was the BEST 1/2 and hour of my life. Haha!

David sang A Little To Not Over You, Touch My Hands, Crush, Don't Let Go, A Thousand Miles, and Angels. He is just amazing on stage. Photos by yours truly.

After the showcase, we AAM-ers gathered at the VIP seats. Kylie, our mamacub, announced what the tiny piece of paper was for. Each of us will get a chance to meet David in PERSON and then, take a group photo with him because we didn't at the airport. Ray, David's tour manager apparently realized that we weren't part of the mob that day, so he arranged this just for us. Thank you Ray! You're the best tour manager in the world! Guess that's what you get for not giving into temptation. Haha. Hope he liked my impromptu gift! Lol my bracelet. :P I also asked if he would be interested to come down to Sarawak. He said he'd love to... if he had the time! LoL!

So, I was the first of the AAM group to go in after the autogrpah sect. I met him... it was awkward.

This is my first portrait of a person. I've never gone for complete and proper art lesson on portraits before, so yeah, this means a lot to me.

Me
: Hi!
David: Hi!
Me: I got this for you from my hometown in East Malaysia.
David: Aww thanks.
Me: Could you sign this for me? (hands him my sketchbook)
David: Oh, how cool! *signs*
Me: Oh, could you draw something?
David: Draw something?
*awkward silence...as he stared at me thinking*--he has nice clear eyes. LOL
David: *drew peace sign* Like this? :D
Me: Aww thank you. Oh, btw my friend told you about me earlier right? Thank you for changing my life.
David: Aww, yeah, she did. Thank you.

Gee, how do I describe him. He's short; but taller than me and taller than what I see on TV. He has nice, piercing hazel eyes, and his voice is loud. Haha. Idk if it's the echo, but it's loud. And most importantly he GLOWS. The mark of a person who is clean inside and out. David, are you real?

Then I got pulled out by the security... so I wasn't lucky enough to get a picture with him. Haha. But I was SO thankful already. I've gotten more than I wanted. Thanks, Sheba, for telling him my story! You're the best!! And thanks for finding out that David KNOWS where Sarawak is situated and that he knows that there are two parts of Malaysia! Haha.

Then, we got a group photo with him and Ray. I got the best two seconds in my life when he accedentally sat next to me up front...(before he moved up to the middle) Haha. Again, more than what I asked for. So, we parted, gave and recieved hugs. Tears of joy, sadness, and gushes of thank yous were everywhere. We were so sad, yet so happy. Ah~ the paradox if things. I took a ride to Sunway Pyramid with Sheba and Yoashio. We were mobbed-ish by fans too. Haha. Guess now I know how David feels like. Next morning, David and Ray went back to Utah. 'couldn't see them off 'cause I didn't think there was a bus that could take me to the airport as early as 5am. I went in the evening. Leaving K.L was bitter-sweet. But I was happy to be back home.

My many thanks to many special people.

Thank you authors Anne, Kylie, John, Justine, and Lily, for the opportunity, thank you Sony BMG for brining David over, thank you Hitz for the tickets, thank you Alex for being with me to get the tickets and being so nice to offer your tickets and M&G pass if you've won it, thank you aunty Shu Yee because of believing that I could give my gift to David, thank you Elicia for the cupcakes, thank you Barb and Debb (and Alci lol) for helping me with David's gift, thank you Sheba for telling David my story and giving his hug to me, thank you Kitty for your kind words, thank you Tracy for the postcard, and being with us in the hot sun in the line, thanks to ALL the AAM-ers who made everything so cheerful and friendly, thank you aunty Jassy and Zymz for letting me stay at your place, thank you Ray for arranging our private time with David, and thank you David Archuleta, for making influencing me to be a better person as well as bringing us members closer together as one big caring and loving family.
